Art: problem solving with imagination and creativity. The act of creation is the freedom to transform boundaries and overcome obstacles. When these forces come together they provide a social dialogue allowing opportunities for a variety of voices to emerge in new and unique formations. According to Stella Adler, “Life beats down and crushes the soul, and art reminds you that you have one,” and as an artist, I try to see my subjects through this soul-filled lens. I search for those visual moments that inspire awe and wonder untainted or tethered to the rules, or responsibilities of the adult world. The majority of my creative work stems from a desire to capture unexpected or random moments that appear to have a deeper story to tell. I look to nature and the day-to-day happenings of life that transpire right outside my front door as the muse to weave together these visual conversations that lift the mundane to a higher plane.
